I met Dr. Kilby months before I started using his services. I had never been to a chiropractor before, but was curious about the difference in perspective they may have compared to a traditional medical doctor. Through several conversations with... him, I began to really understand how important our skeletal structure, and more specifically, our spine health is to provide full function to every other part of our body, from nerves and muscles, to internal organs, and the brain.Equipped with this understanding, and having had subpar experiences with the traditional healthcare system, I decided to introduce my wife to Dr. Kilby, as she had been having some hip pain, headaches and other symptoms that we were not getting any answers for. We met Kilby for the consultation, not really knowing what to expect, (and honestly not sure how much we would benefit from his services) and both of us were absolutely blown away by his level of knowledge, how much he cared about each and every problem we had, and the level of depth that we discussed how each issue could potentially be connected to our spinal health.Upon our follow up appointment, after Dr. Kilby looked over the x-rays and made his notes, he was able to provide a full picture of how her spine was aligned compared to what a healthy spine looks like, and create a plan based on that information. Within one adjustment, her hip pain was improved significantly, from being nearly debilitating to a mild annoyance. After the second adjustment, she was pain free. Within a consult and two adjustments, Kilby had solved an issue that physicians didn't even believe existed.Fast forward 4 months, and my wife as well as myself see Kilby on a consistent basis to help keep our spines as healthy as possible. We also plan to bring our kids to him when the time comes; as far as we're concerned, he's a lifelong doctor.If you've ever wondered about chiropractic, thought you might need it, and especially if you think it's "hocus pocus", visiting with Kilby could be a life changing experience. Dr.Rech got me in fast and spent time with me to create a plan for correction of my complex scoliosis. He adjusted me specific to my body.It was far from a generic adjustment. I have been searching many years looking for a corrective chiropracter... and I finally found him. Acute pain brought me into the clinic. Having a compression fracture in my back and no feeling and numbness in my left arm did not have to be my normal! I thought I was just getting my back cracked for some relief. But I’m getting MORE then that. I’ve always had 2 periods a month. One at the beginning of the month one at the end. With going here consistently for a couple of months now I’ve gone done... to ONCE a month like a normal person. Lower back pain/ discomfort is my main problem and that’s where everything’s connected. Dr. Rech can and will go into more details on how everything works with your own body.He’s very thorough during the first appointment! I suggest just setting everything on the table and get down to ALL your problems are during the first appointment! Very nice and understanding people!read more

My daughter (3 months) has been struggling with acid reflux. She was often in pain/fussy during and after feedings. We decided to try taking her to a chiropractor, and we’re so glad we did! Dr. Kilby is the most thorough chiropractor I've ever been to! He definitely listens to your concerns and makes you feel super comfortable. I see him regularly to keep my body feeling and moving great but I know if I have aches and pains he will get... me adjusted and feeling better very quickly! Even my kids ask regularly to go see Dr. Kilby! Mariah is super on top of things and keeps the office running with ease, she's always super friendly and you can tell she loves working with people! Prior to seeing Dr. Kilby, I had no experience visiting a chiropractor and was a little hesitant to try it out. I work with little ones so I move around and lift a lot, and it leaves me with a lot of general aches and pains, especially in my... hips/knees. After my hip was out of commission for 2+ weeks, I reluctantly allowed my husband to make an appt for me at Thrive... and it was the best decision ever in regard to my overall well-being. Dr. Kilby is so kind and knowledgeable and never once made me feel uncomfortable. I've only had a few adjustments at this point and I've already felt improvement. I like that his approach takes into account what the rest of your life will be like - rather than just treating the symptoms now, he's all about the longterm fix, as well as making sure you're well educated on the topic. Why aren't all doctors like this?!?!?! There is so much more I could say, but you'll have to make an appointment and experience it for yourself 😊 Thank you Dr. Kilby!!! I am a real doctor (cardiologist) and I have been experiencing back pain for several months. I went to the neurosurgeon, had an MRI and did physical therapy without improvement. Went with the assumption it would be like any other chiropractic visit, where you go in, get cracked and come back when it hurts again. But, to my amazement it is so much more than that. The pain I had was a 7 year long ordeal. Within 4 visits... both of my pains were completely gone. Very happy to have Dr. Kilby as a chiropractor. I am pretty particular about choosing a chiropractor. I was not disappointed with the Thrive Family Chiropractic in Rapid City. They helped me with my lower back pain and neck pain.
